Location.Built in the style of a 19th-century Ottoman Mansion, the Best Western Acropol Hotel is a boutique property set in the centre of Istanbul overlooking the Bosphorus and St. Sofia. It is just 200 metres from Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque. Istanbul Ataturk Airport is 14 kilometres away, an approximate driving time of 25 minutes.
Hotel Features.Room service is available 24- hours a day, and there is complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the property and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Multilingual staff at the all- hours front desk can offer tour assistance, concierge services and currency exchange, and there are conference and banquet facilities available. Other practical amenities include airport transport (surcharge), dry cleaning services and safe-deposit boxes.

The Mamara Teras Restaurant is situated on the roof of the hotel and offers panoramic views over Istanbul featuring St. Sophia and the Bosphorus River. Authentic Turkish and international dishes are served, and there is also a café bar, decorated with ornamental ceramics and chandeliers, serving an array of appetizers, salads, coffees and cocktails.

Guestrooms. Best Western Acropol Hotel offers 30 air-conditioned guestrooms, located on five floors, which have traditional Ottoman- style decor with authentic Turkish design features, low- level wall lighting, parquet floors, ceiling coving and rich-hued fabrics. Amenities include satellite television, multi-line phones, complimentary wireless Internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, minibars and safes. Bathrooms have designer toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and hair dryers.

Expert Tip. A visit to Istanbul should include a trip to the Topkapi Palace Museum, 200 metres from the hotel. The Palace was home to the Ottoman sultans for a period of nearly four centuries. The Hagia Sofia Church Museum is also 200 metres away, and offers visitors the chance to see the beautiful Ottoman art and interiors of the central Dome.

Under the Turkish Ministry for Tourism, hotels and other tourist residences in Turkey are rated as per a set of national standards. There are seven categories of rating in operation: one star to five star hotels, 'Special Class' hotels and 'Boutique Class' hotels. Getting there.The metro system connects the airport to Aksaray in the city centre, from here travellers can connect to the tram and bus system. The metro station is connected to both terminals via an underground walkway. A single ticket costs around 1 TRY. T Sultanahment is the nearest tram to the hotel, 200 metres away. The Havas Airport Bus runs every 30 minutes to Taksim Square in central Istanbul and to the Esenler bus terminal. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Airport Taxis are available from outside Arrivals and should cost around 20-30 TRY to the city centre. At night a 50 percent surcharge is added. Shared taxis, Dolmus, are also available from the airport. Alternatively, the hotel offers a transfer service (surcharge). All prices subject to change. Istanbul has an extensive public transport network comprised of metros (underground trains), buses, trams, trains, ferries and sea buses. Tickets are available from stations, main stops, or kiosks and should be purchased in advance of boarding. Istanbul has a large fleet of yellow taxis which are relatively inexpensive, but travellers should make sure the meter is on. A cheaper way of getting around is to use a Dolmus (shared taxi or minibus). Driving is not recommended in the city.

Driving directions.From the airport turn right and take the road signposted Yesilyurt. After approximately two kilometres turn left at the sign for Sahilyolu, and then left again at the traffic lights towards Sultanhment. Follow directions for the Four Seasons Hotel and the Best Western Acropol is on the same road.
