Principessa Tea Hotel - Roma

To cut a long story short, our party arrived at the hotel and were given 2 rooms on the same floor as reception. They were damp, old, out of date, smelly and generally not comfortable or pleasant. After asking to be moved we went upstairs to the most wonderful, new, clean and tastefully refurbished rooms. They had been renovated to a very high standard and we adored them. We were told that only the downstairs now has to be renovated but I cant understand why they still rent these lower rooms out as they are awful and can only make visitors rate the hotel very poorly. If we hadnt been moved my score would have been very poor indeed. As it is, we found the hotel, service and new rooms wonderful and would definately stay in this hotel again.

The hotel was clearly under renovation though it did not affect our stay. We could only tell due to the dramatic difference between 60s décor in the entryway and our very contemporary room. Temperature controlled rooms in August were a major plus, flat screen tvs, refit bathrooms, safe in the room and a first, US, UK and continental European plugs in the room. The help was hot and cold, other exceptional or dismal, and remembering our wakeup call would have been nice but welcome to Europe. We travel through Europe often an this is an excellent value. We definitely recommend.

Hotel was quite a way from nearest metro station, and was also uphill getting back to it. After a long day sightseeing, this was a bit exhausting. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite. We were given a newly renovated room which was v comfortable and v clean. But the main areas of the hotel were a little jaded. Breakfast was similar to many hotels ( a bit bleak)- but there was plenty of it. Fresh fruit would have been a nice addition.

Hotel was going through re-construction and had some problems with lights, unable to open windows, etc. They had a good breakfast. Excellent location for travelers who like to walk a lot(excellent park just few minutes of walk.) Concierges have no knowledge where to go and what to see, particularly evening entertainment; therefore, prepare yourself ahead of time.

Located very closed (3 blocks) from Via Veneto, this hotel is a very good deal. Clean rooms and excellent staff round up a very satisfying stay.
