W Chicago City Center - Chicago

Completely satisfied with the overall stay... A bit disappointed that the room wasn't the usual W hotel- much more catered to the business person, no frills decor. It is in the business district so it's expected, but I was hoping for more at a W.

I have stayed at this property on several business trips. The service has always been excellent - the concierge always has great suggestions for dinner and entertainment - and the hotel is well maintained. If you arrive for the first time in the evening, be aware that the "lobby" has a bar/nightclub look and feel to it, as is typical of W Hotels. On this trip, my wife joined me for the weekend and enjoyed the hotel's very convenient location in the heart of the financial district with the theater district and numerous fine restaurants within a short walk. If you want to venture farther as we did, there are multiple CTA train stations nearby (the hotel is in the "loop"), and cabs are always available, so the whole city of Chicago is easily accessible. The rates I got on Hotels.com made this latest stay a downright bargain compared to the rates I paid booking directly with the hotel. The room was one of the small ones, but it was still comfortable and served its purpose, especially when I was the lone occupant. If you want one of the bigger rooms, be sure to book one with two queen beds or inquire as to which of the rooms with a single bed is bigger. Overall, a great place to stay when visiting downtown Chicago.

They need to charge you 200$ deposit for the room. You will get it back if nothing is stolen or the items are not used.

I had the "wonderful room" which lived up to its name. It was small, but very well appointed. Very comfortable king size bed, plasma TV, nice shower. Neat lighting in the room with a light around the bed, dimmers. Staff was helpful, and got me checked in hours earlier than scheduled as soon as they were able to.

They were very friendly and actually upgrated us to a newly remodeled room! Had a great experience!

My daughter and I stayed overnight and attended a concert in the area. The room was very unique and kinda retro style, which proved to be a great experience for my teenager. The service was excellent, very nice staff, and the location made for easy access to stores, restaurants, and the concert venue. Valet parking worked out wonderfully and I was even allowed to leave my car at the hotel while shopping downtown. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it. And if my daughter says, "it's cool" then it is cool. Thanks W Chicago Center for a great hotel experience!!

This hotel definitely captures metropolitan living. From the aesthetics of the decor to the excellent customer service of the staff, The W City Center is a great place to stay if you're seeking to be in the downtown area of Chicago.

The room was clean, although a bit small. Checking in was easy and the downtown location on the loop was very convenient. I had a room on the inside of the hotel so I did not hear the "El". Relaxing in front of the television that night was difficult because the buttons on the remote didn't want to work consistently. Overall the room was fine for an overnight/early check-out business trip.

Well, the idea of booking a W hotel, or any Chicago hotel for $109/night was almost inconceivable. And, since this was a quick trip, I grabbed it. The hotel is lovely. The staff is great, and the room, well, it was very small. I felt like I was in hotels I've been in in Asia and Europe. I'm sure that this idiosyncratically shaped room was carved out in the renovation, and had I paid full W freight for this, I would have been disappointed. Instead, I felt very lucky. Great bed, nice desk, cute bathroom (again, tiny), but all the luxe you'd expect of the W in a, well, nifty travel size. I wouldn't recommend this room for someone traveling with someone or who planned to spend hours working in the hotel room, but for a place to catch up on email, get a good night's sleep and have all the amenities of the hotel (including a better-than-average health club called "Sweat"), it was a find.

We stayed 2 nights at the W and had a wonderful time. The staff was unbelievably helpful and nice! They gave us a free upgrade from a "wonderful" room to a "spectacular" room, and it was tons of space for my husband and I. The staff member in the elevator apologized that our room hadn't been renovated yet, but t was wonderful-flat screen tv, the most comfortable bed ever, and a roomy, updated bathroom. The only thing we missed in the room was a microwave to heat up leftovers from the great restaurants we ate at. We had a fantastic time at the W and would absolutely stay there again.

We paid a great price for a fabulous stay. Since we stayed right around Christmastime and the hotel wasn't very busy, we were even upgraded to a room twice the size of the room we originally booked. We loved it and would definitely go back!

Very elegant - went during the holidays and it fit the sentiment.

The hotel itself was nice but our room was locating accross from the ice machine and the elevators and the walls and door were paper thin. You could hear everything that went on in the hallway. Other than that it was really nice.

the room was rather dark and few lights. The location excellent and the bar and lobby in the evening very lively. very good price for a very good hotel. We will come back!

I had a wonderful room and there was absoutely NOTHING wonderful about it. It was teeny tiny. Barey enough room for the queen bed and tv armoire. The bathroom was extremley petite. There was no counter space - just a sink. The view was awful. The room was very reminiscent of a Microtel or LaQuinta Inn.

Beware! The Wonderful Room is not only very small but the decor is definitely meant for women. The staff was incredibly nice, however, the bed was really comfortable.

Seemed outdated compared with most other W's. Needs renovation. My Spectacular Room was a nightmare due to the loud, incessant passing of the L-train as well as construction that started after midnight an didn't stop until I finally fell asleep at 4am or so. They offered ear plugs and switched my room the next day to a smaller, but much quieter room. I would have complained more, but the front desk host was very apologetic and ensured me that all would be taken care of by the time I returned - which he did. Bliss products are always a draw for me and their featherbed and down comforter were very comfortable. Furniture seemed a bit shabby for the W and the edge of the desk was splintering from perhaps the armrests of the chair hitting it? I bit underwhelming after having stayed at W's when they first launched.

The hotel was fine except the el train that came thru every 15 minutes. I asked to be moved but the hotel was full.

OVERALL WE LOVED THE HOTEL! THE STAFF WAS MORE HELPFUL THAN ANYONE COULD ASK FOR. THE HOTEL WAS BEAUTIFUL, MODERN, AND TRENDY, PERFECT FOR US! ONE TINY THING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER, WOULD BE THE TV/REMOTE. THE BUTTONS DIDNT ALWAYS WORK ON THE REMOTE. ROOM WAS A LITTLE SMALL BUT IT HAD THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED! WE HAD HEARD ABOUT THE TRAIN RUNNING CLOSE TO HOTEL, BUT THE ROOMS ARE INSULATED WELL AND YOU COULD BARELY HEAR IT. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK!

My husband and I went to a concert in Chicago and stayed at the W Hotel on Adams street. The location was excellent. Everything was within walking distance. The sears tower is only a few blocks away from the hotel and the bus tour is located in front of the the Sears tower.We highly recommend this tour. The hotel was nicely decorated with purples, blues, and black. Candles were lit throughout the lobby. Nice hip music played in the hotel lobby. This is a nice place to stay if you like the modern hip style. I recommend it for the younger crowd. The room was a little small but it was ok because we were not in our room alot. On future vacations, we will stay at a W Hotel.

The hotel is in a good location for easy access to attactions and eateries. The room was a bit pricey for the size but it was comfortable. The staff is very courteous and prompt when it comes to service. Make sure you do not get a room near the L-train. I was on the opposite side of the hotel and was still able to hear a low rumble. But it didn't disturb my sleep. The two things that bothered me were the low lighting and the loud music in the lobby and elevators. The hotel has dark decor, low lighting and loud music which makes it seem more like a dance club than a hotel.

Excellent service, staff was very helpful, they ruined other hotel stays in my future. I look forward to staying with them again.

very chic and hip. the staff could not have been friendlier or nicer. work out room was much better than most hotels. i would defintely stay here again.

This was for us a unique hotel experience. Though the hotel was (literally)a bit on the dark side, none the less, it was fun to experience something truly different. Service was great with virtually all the staff looking for ways to assist.

It was apparent from the start that Hotels.com and this place are not on the same page. We were not given the room requested and the receptionist was more then willing to express her feelings about online booking, which was completely negative! Very small rooms, no heat, December in Chicago is cold and a very unfriendly atmosphere. I would not recommend this place to anyone nor would I stay there again on my numerous trips to Chicago. If you like appearances this might work for you but as for comfort and customer service, sorry no stars!

some rooms are extremely small

THe hotel is comfortable, near attractions, the only complaint I have is the restaurant was not very good. They took a very long time for pancakes and yogurt, while there was only one other couple in there.

Maybe the front desk staff would treat you well At 6 oclock at night my room wasn't ready and the staff did not seem to think that was a big deal

The comfort and service is fabulous. Our room was rather small but still gave a comfortable warmth and lacked the feeling of claustrophobic. The public spaces are fabulous and interesting and give the same comforting feel with the warm deep colors. Live in the city but used it as a romantic and fun escape from the usual. Overall a great experience and would love to stay again.

The room was heavily perfumed -- I had to keep the window open just to breathe. My clothes still smelled like the room when I returned home.

The room was small and hot at night. It made it difficult to sleep. The room was listed as a King bed and it was a double. It was designed for a single male. There was no counter space in the bath for toiletries. I was disapointed for the amount we paid.

Needs more light. a little on the dark side.
