Clarion Hotel La Guardia Airport - East Elmhurst

This hotel is a no frills hotel, but is perfect if you are attending the US Open, need to be by the airport, or are heading to a Mets game. The staff was very nice, the room clean, and breakfast was fine. The shuttle service was great--very reliable and fast.

We found the LaGuardia Clarion to be extremely convenient to the airport and Dollar Rental Cars. It's a somewhat older hotel and rooms are on the small side, but they were sufficient for our one-night stay. Our only complaint was in the directions we were given to walk to a restaurant, and the place ended up being about twice as far as we were told -- and then we still couldn't find it. But they were nice enough to drive us there in the Clarion van and come back and pick us up.

Hotel advertised bar. Front desk said the bar has been closed since December. No in-room mini-bars either. My room did not have a remote control. I asked for one, and got one that looked like it was stepped on and mended with a roll of tape, and it barely worked.

But on the small side (even by NYC standards) and could make do with cleanup or renovations.

great room for the money,very clean and modern, I was totally satisfied, pleasant staff and cooperative, breafkast was very good also...

Weather caused my flight to be cancelled, and I was stuck in NY overnight. I selected this hotel because it had a free shuttle to/from LGA and it was near the airport. Those were about the only things this hotel had going for it. The front desk staff member informed us that the kitchen was closed for renovation, so it was carry out from a pizza place or a walk down the street through a neighborhood of questionable safety. When we returned after braving the neighborhood, the front desk staff member was on the phone on a personal call and took a while to acknowledge our presence. I gave up trying to leave a wake-up call after 4 attempts--the line rang and rang. The room's decor wasn't pleasing to the eye. Although the bath was clean, the shower curtain smelled musty. Sheets were clean, and bed comfortable, but sleep was sporatic because of noisy air conditioner, traffic noise, and the (expected) planes overhead.

Great service, free shuttles to LGA every half an hour, clean and comfortable. What more could you want for a short stay?

Room was big for NY standards, but typical for a chain. Relative, however, for NY...I say big as the door didn't hit the dresser or bed when you opened it. Very close to airport is why I choose it for my early morning flight. Shuttle was prompt and fast.

The room was small, very poor lighting, the building is old, but kept ok. For the location it was great, a safe place to sleep, just don't spend too much time in the room.

The accomodations were adequate for "bed for the night", but I wouldn't want to stay there for anything else.

We spent two nights on our way back from upstate New York. Our room was very clean, we needed extra towels and they were brought to us immediately. Breakfast was included with our room. Bus stop right across the street and a short ride to the subway station to get us into Manhattan. It beats the ridiculous prices of the hotels in Manhattan.

The bathroom was very small and the sink and tub were not full size- the sink came to mid-thigh height and my knees practically touched the opposing wall when I sat on the toilet In the first room I was given the tv didn't work. The staff was very polite and helpful about changing the room. Even then, though the tv system did not include local network affiliates which staff were not knowledgeable about. I added a day prior to my hotels.com stay by phone and sought assurance that I wouldn't have to change rooms. However, I did have to change. The hotel is built on a hill and the floors are very odd. I had to take an elevator to the third floor and then walk down a long sloping corridor to my room which seemed to be on the second floor, which could be a major barrier to some with difficulty walking. The hotel is refinishing the exterior so all the windows were covered with protective plastic so I couldn't see out to judge the weather or anything else.

The location was excellent and convenient to the city. The bus stop was right up the street. The single room was small but comfortable. I was not impressed with the breakfast but that's not a major factor for me. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay there again.

Hallways very dirty, staff sarcastic, breakfast was pretty good. Not that convenient for NYC

Room was not clean the first night...hallways worse...terrible smell in the room....breakfast was cold to frozen....

Hotel overall not bad but my room was very small; staff does great job and parking operation was well done and help was excellent. Proximity to LaGuardia is about as good as it can get but small room for multi night stay is a deal killer

It is a bit of a hassle getting into Manhattan, but the money saved makes it worth it. Don't bother with the exercise room, it's like a steam bath.

Stay in the city or book all flights late in the day so you don't have to overnight at this hotel.

only downside: Fitness room wasn't operative.

Staff was very helpful, wifi service was horrible or no connection at all. Good rooms quite small but clean, no coffee maker,no radio clock, no microwave or small fridge...very inconvenient. Would not stay again.

Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Free breakfast is free for a reason. The location is definitely convenient. The hotel was clean and somewhat comfortable. If you can afford more I'd go somewhere else.

Our room was very far away from the lobby, and required climbing up a long ramp to get anywhere. Ridiculous! Next time I will be sure to ask for a handicap room because my husband has bad knees and legs and could hardly walk the long distance to breakfast. Other than the room being kind of small, the location and complimentary breakfast were pretty good.Staff was not particularly friendly or accomodating as we passed several staff members and not one asked if we needed help carrying our luggage.Price was good.

I rate this hotel a great value because it is conveniently located to LGA, and decent prices and large rooms for NY standards. Even with the transportation cost to go into Manhattan and back, the total cost per day is significantly less than staying in a Manhattan hotel (and the rooms are much bigger). The lack of close restaurants is the main drawback.

Bus to subway runs right past hotel. Breakfast good. In midst of some renovation. Staff helpful.

The staff is wonderful. A car was always waiting for us when we got down to the lobby. The free shuttle from the airport was a welcome sight. It was very comfortable and close to my daughter's home in Queens.

The restaurant was not open. The advertised continental breakfast but none available. No wash cloths in bathroom.

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel last month and again this month. I'm extremely satified. This time I took a risk and decided that I would look for parking instead of parking at the hotel lot. I was surprised about how quick I found parking in the area. Thanks

I was very impressed with the kindness and knowledge of the hotel staff. The night staff workers were the ones we saw the most. Front Desk employee Myrna was wonderful and very helpful. Thanks to the night time security guard for his help with the trains and buses. You all were wonderful. The only thing we dealt with that was not perfect was the hot water boiler breaking down. That was fixed when we returned. Thanks again! Hope to see you soon!

Very clean, New carpet,Drapes,Bedding,Flat sceen Tv front desk check in was great,Handicap parking was valet. we just had a great vacation at the Clarion Hotel La Guardia Airport

Friendly staff, nice rooms, inexpensive parking. Great place to stay if you're in town for a Mets game. Only 45 minutes by bus/subway to Manhattan as well.
