Zic Zac Rock Hotel - Zürih

The "Hotel" is in a really good location and quiet cheap, but thats the only plus. The toilets and showers are communal and having 2 toilets and 1 shower for a floor and a half of room got to be a joke. The rooms are very basic. But at least mine had a "private" sink.

If you are in Zurich and simply need a home base to sleep and keep your stuff, this place works perfectly. Shared bathrooms were very clean and never a problem. There is a sink in the room, too. Comfy beds, rug a litle shabby, overhead light too bright, front desk personnel helpful, good location - all in all, definitely not luxurious, but fine for the money.

This is a budget hotel smack in the centre of Zurich: perfect for younger people. I found it uncomfortable. The shared bathroom was busy. The room floor tilted, and the bed was too short so I kept sliding slowly out of it. Central location also means street noise: pubs closing at 3am. Breakfast was horrid, and we were asked to pay a supplementary tax, something I've never seen before with a hotels.com hotel. On the plus side, it was cheap, and central, and you would probably meet interesting people here. I'd come back if I was 20 years younger. As it is, next time I pay the extra for a comfortable bed and decent breakfast.

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Zurich HB train station. You could also take the tram #4 and get off on the 3rd stop. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of everything. People are friendly and feel very safe.

Wasn't a hotel but a hostel and overpriced hostel at that. Crumbling paint walls, dirty carpeting, etc. only good thing about the hostel was it's central location in the middle of the city.

I didn't expect a ton from Zic Zac Rock Hotel, mainly just a place to sleep to get past my jet lag. My bed was comfortable and the room was quiet enough to get quite a lot of sleep. The staff was nice. The only thing I would have liked that wasn't there was an alarm clock, but not something that was a "deal breaker" for me. The single room was small, but functional.

I have booked three hotels from u one in geneva one in interlaken nd last one in Zurich. For the first 2 booking I have no complaints. But the zic zac rock in Zurich was the worst hotel experience I ever had. I think the company like yours should not keep hotels like zic zac in ur list. Thats all I have to say

I thought the desk staff was helpful and polite, as was the restaurant staff. THe location was great, and for the price it was fine. However, my room (and bed linens) reeked of cigarette smoke.

The hotel does not offer private toilets or showers. Yes, each floor in the hotel offers a communal shower. That is however not unlike many older European hotels. The notion of private baths in a hotel room is mostly an American idea that is spreading to Europe but the older hotels are still more traditionally European. The hotel location however is ideal for a young couple or a single person that just wants to enjoy Europe with a greater degree of privacy than a youth hostel might offer but is willing to sacrifice some comfort for a lower price. This was my second time staying here, the first time I was alone and this last time my partner was with me. My partner is somewhat picky about cleanliness and privacy, whereas I understand that $100 per night lower price might also entail $100 per night less extravagance and luxury. it was worth it for me. I like the place, my partner doesnt as much. So on a scale of 1-5 I give it a 3. Every kind of night club imaginable is within a 5 minute walk as well as several fine dining places. The location for me makes up for everything else.

My roomate and I got a double. we had a bunkbed, a sink, and i think the only balcony at ZicZac. It was overpriced for what it was and the check-in guy was NOT friendly and rude. However, we only ran into him once, all the other staff was very friendly and very helpful. Everyone should try the bar downstairs; it's really crowded on Saturday nights and having a room means that you won't have to pay a cover charge like all the other places do

Her var det så lytt mellom rommene at man nesten kunne høre at naboen snudde seg i senga. Dessuten luktet det gammelt fjøs/sirkus på rommet. Ikke imponert nei. Heldigvis veide selve byen opp for hotell standarden!

le service (réception) n'est pas gentil du tout. Par rapport avec la qualité de hotel de F1 en France, le qualité de cet hotel est beaucoup moins bon.

Dette hotellet er meget enkelt,men mann betaler også lite.

gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, ruhiger als erwartet, einfach eingerichtet, knarrende alte Fußböden, Dusche und Klo auf dem Flur, gute Betten, sympatische Atmosphäre, es gibt VIVA und MTV und (alles?)Raucherzimmer, unkompliziertes Hotel für unkomplizierte Menschen, Nörgler finden hier viel zu meckern - ich komme wieder!

Ideale Lage mitten in der Altstadt und trotzdem ruhig im Zimmer wegen der guten Fenster. Zwei ältere Frauen fühlten sich hier bestens aufgehoben.

Ich kenne das Hotel seit nunmehr 15 Jahren. Früher hiess es, glaube ich, "Rothaus". Die Lage im Niederdorf ist absolut genial. Es hat dort viele Restaurants und Bars, auch die Seepromenade ist zu Fuss in kürzester Zeit zu erreichen. Vom Bahnhof zu Fuss in 15 Minuten zu erreichen. Wer eher komfortabel logieren will, ist im Zic Zac an der falschen Adresse. Dusche und WC sind auf dem Flur, zu Hauptzeiten könnten Warteschlangen entstehen. Der tiefe Preis für eine Nacht rechtfertigt diese Komforteinbusse bei weitem! Die Leute an der Rezeption habe ich als gut gelaunt und freundlich kennengelernt.

Not the Ritz someone sad but I wasn't looking for Ritz, so I was quite pleased with the hotel. If you're looking for a cheap central location in Zürich and you got a pair of ear plugs for sleeping Zic Zac hotel is. I really loved the surroundings and the old town of Zürich just outside the doorstep.

Kein Frühstück, Gemeinsames WC/Dusche auf dem Flur (mit Schimmelbefall), Lärm die ganze Nacht durch. Dafür absolut zentral und das Bett ist sauber.

Det var säkert riktigt men jag fick inte betala med kort för att beloppet var för lågt. Jag tycker det var dålig service eftersom jag trodde jag betalt allt och jag inte hade kontanter. Läget är bra men det är allt.

Helt greit for oss som bare skal en plass å kast fra seg kofferten og trenger ei seng for natten. Hjelpsom betjening , rent på romet og badet.

Zimmer lediglich mit Waschgeelegenheit ohne WC und Dusche sind eine Zumutung

Die Mitarbeiter der Rezeption wirkn sehr genervt und sin nicht sonderlich hilfsbereit. Außerdem macht das Hotel im gesamten eine etwas schmuddeligen Eindruck. Die Taxe muß auch nochmal extra bezahlt werden

Sehr gute, zentrale Lage. Nachtleben in direkter Umgebung, viele Restaurants, Kneipen, Bars und Discos. Schlichte Zimmer, aber sauber, insgesamt gute Preis-Leistungsqualität.

War gut.

Optimale Unterkunft nach einer duchzechten Nacht

On y va, un peu inquiet tout de même de ce qu'on va trouver et .. on n'est pas déçu: oui les toilettes sont dans le couloir, oui c'est vieillot (mais on aime), oui on y rencontre plus de 'gens normaux' que de costar-cravates (encore que...), mais c'est très propre, très calme, accueil simple et efficace, super quartier. On y retournera.

Mitten im Nachtleben von Zürich. Es ist bis früh am Morgen laut von der Strasse. Viele Bars und Pubs in der Umgebung.
